CARIBOU, Maine — Over the course of just 25 days, Hilltop and Teague Park Elementary schools collectively raised more than $6,500 for the Francis Malcolm Science Center through the Star Challenge Fundraiser.

According to Bryan Lawrence, who assisted with the fundraising efforts, the star challenge involved students selling colorful paper stars to family and friends. The three students who sold the most stars won a telescope and any students selling more than six stars also were eligible for prizes.

Hilltop’s three top star-sellers were, from first to third place, Marleia Stevens, Chloe Boma, and Benson Belanger. Teague Park’s three winners were Landon Belanger, Joslyn Griffith, and Nolan Matilla. Highest selling classes were the first and third grades, respectively hailing from Hilltop and Teague Park.

Winning classes won a trip to the Science Center for an ice cream party and planetarium show.
