Washburn students visited Madrid, Zaragoza, Barcelona, Paris, Moulin Rouge, Notre Dame and MontMartre. They went to the top of the Eiffel Tower, walked in the gardens of Versailles and toured the palace of Versailles. They enjoyed the art at the Louvre art museum, including the “Mona Lisa” and “Venus de Milo,” and many works of art dating back as far as 200 B.C.
Students went on a river cruise of the Seine River. They were able to attend a soccer game in Madrid and root for the opposing team, which won 3-0. They also visited cathedrals, palaces, and many historic buildings. The students had an amazing time and brought home many memories that will last a lifetime.
The next student tour is April 2019 in Italy, where they will visit locations from Milan in the north to Pompeii in the south. Major attractions will be Venice, Verona, Florence, Rome, Capri, and Pompeii. Contact Mrs. Reed at WDHS for information. There will also be an adult tour to Costa Rica in April 2020.
