The Bantam Youth Hockey team finished up their season with a 14-9-4 record. They won the Bangor Friendship Tournament and made it to the semifinals in the District II year-end tournament.

“The weekend in Bangor was one of the most exciting and enjoyable weekends of hockey that I have had the pleasure of being involved with. It was fun listening to the coaches, parents and players from other teams comment on how well our team passed the puck, how tough we played defensively, and how well our offense set up their attack in the zone with cycling; but mostly how much fun the kids, coaches and parents were having. One of the best compliments we received throughout the season had nothing to do with their physical abilities, it was about their attitude. I had coaches and referees come up and comment on several different occasions throughout the year about what a great attitude our kids had. When you can get a referee to make this type of comment, you’ve really made an impression,” said head coach Greg Hallett.
“As head coach, I would like to say thanks. This season was a success because of people like [assistnt coaches] Peter Campbell, Sean Duplessie and [team manager] Bryce Waddell. They made my job easy and at times did it without me. Sean was a huge part of getting our players to learn how to cycle, Peter was always there to help any way needed and Bryce always made sure we were in good financial shape and assisted when needed on the bench. It was a real pleasure having been able to coach this team this year. Thanks to the kids, the parents, and my family who supported and assisted me in many different ways throughout the year. Great job Bantam Team,” Hallett concluded.
The Bantam Team, sponsored by the Rotary and Kiwanis clubs, participated in the annual Bangor Friendship Tournament and won the championship game in a 6-5 comeback.
