HOULTON, Maine — The Houlton High School JMG program is seeking input from the public on projects students can assist with as part of the 4th annual Community Service Day slated for Friday, May 26.
According to Dee Butler, program director, JMG students from Houlton Middle-High School will be in the community from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. to work on projects.
“If you are an elderly person and need some assistance with lawn work, gardening, spring cleaning, we have a group of students and an adult or two that will be of service,” Butler said. “We would also like to assist our local non-profits.”
Projects in past years have included picking up garbage in Riverfront Park; raking leaves or stacking wood for elderly citizens, and delivering goody bags to some in the community.
All who know someone who could use some help are encouraged to call 538-3870 and leave a message. Projects will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
