Pitch Hit and Run
The Pitch Hit and Run competition will be held on Sunday, May 21 at the Teague Park ball field. Check-in is at 2 p.m. with the competition starting at 2:30 p.m.
This competition will give youth a chance to see how accurately they can pitch, how far they can hit and how fast they can run. The program is for youths ages 7-14. Age is determined as of July 17, 2017.
Pre-registration is required. In the case of inclement weather, the event will be held inside the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center.
Wellness center hours
The hours at the wellness and recreation center are Monday through Friday from 6 a.m.-6 p.m. The center will closed Saturdays and Sundays.
Outdoor programs
Early registrations for the Caribou Rec X-treme summer programs are now being accepted.
Week 1 is Allagash Wilderness Waterway from June 16-18 for grades 6-11. The fee is $75 for residents and $100 for non-residents. Week 2 is Kayaking I from June 20-23 for grades 5-6. The fee is $35 for residents and $60 for non-residents. Week 3 is Backpacking Baxter from June 26-29 for grades 6-11. The fee is $75 for residents and $100 for non-residents.
Week 4 is Kayaking II from July 10-13 for grades 7-11. The fee is $35 for residents and $60 for non-residents. Week 5 is Mountain Biking from July 18-21 for grades 6-11. The fee is $35 for residents and $60 for non-residents. Week 6 is Baxter State Park I from July 25-27 for grades 6-7. The fee is $75 for residents and $100 for non-residents.
Week 7 is Baxter State Park II from Aug. 1-3 for grades 8-11. The fee is $75 for residents and $100 for non-residents. Week 8 is the North Maine Woods Fishing Trip from Sept. 15-17 for grades 5-11. The fee is $120. Week 9 is the Chimney Pond Backpacking Trip and Mount Katahdin Fall Summit from Oct. 5-7 for grades 5-11. The fee is $75.
