MONTICELLO, Maine — A 20-year-old Monticello woman received minor injuries Tuesday morning when her vehicle went off the road, travelled through a group of trees and came to rest on its roof.
Shelby Suitter was traveling east on the Hare Road shortly around 12:18 a.m. Tuesday when she reportedly lost control of her 2008 Mazda 6 sedan, according to Sheriff Darrell Crandall of the Aroostook County Sheriff’s Office. Suitter lost control of the vehicle due to loose dirt on the roadway, he said.
“It appears that Suitter over corrected and went off the south side of the roadway, traveled through a small group of trees and eventually the vehicle rolled over,” Crandall said. “The car came to rest on its roof.”
The incident was reported to the sheriff’s office by a resident, who stated a woman came to his home and was disoriented and injured.
Deputy Vance Palmer investigated the incident. Suitter was transported to Houlton Regional Hospital and treated for minor injuries. The vehicle was towed from the scene due to significant damage.
Suitter was wearing her seatbelt at the time of the crash.
