BRIDGEWATER, Maine — The interior of a home suffered significant damage in a fire on Sunday morning, according to the town fire chief.
Chief Troy Bradstreet said Monday evening that Terrie Lynn Finnemore was not at her rental home on the Bootfoot Road just before 10 a.m. when the fire broke out and was reported by a passer by.
Bradstreet said that the Bridgewater Fire Department responded and received mutual aid from the Monticello Fire Department.
“We were able to knock the fire down pretty early so that there was no structural damage, just interior damage,” he said. “It appears that the cause was electrical and that it started around the television.”
The home was not insured.
The Aroostook chapter of the American Red Cross is assisting Finnemore.
