PRESQUE ISLE, Maine – Effie G. Lyons, 93, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, May 20, 2017, at a Bangor hospital. She was born March 16, 1924, in Portage, the daughter of Delbert and Pearl (Clark) Lyons.
She worked as a domestic worker for a number of families. She was a very active member of the State Street Baptist Church. She enjoyed going to TOPS to work out and going to Tim Hortons for her cappuccino.
She is survived by two sisters, Virginia Michaud and her husband, Leonide, of Waterville and Clara Fye of Center Hall, PA.; a brother, Milton Lyons of Presque Isle; her good friend, Alberta Todd of Presque Isle; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Don, Alfred, Opal, Arthur, Lona and Eugenia.
Friends may call 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at State Street Baptist Church, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. with Pastor Robert Leland officiating.
