CARIBOU, Maine — David Corriveau, a member of the The Glass Is Half Full (TGIHF), said the group has announced the following categories that its teams will focus on in the upcoming months.
Team One will have tourism in mind with subcategories to suit one’s particular interest. A) Four-season destination; B) Riverfront; C) Airport — Fly-in; D) Historical preservation.
Team Two: agriculture. TGIHF is looking to have all the farming families in the greater Caribou area participate in some form with the following: A) Craft beer market (barley/hops); B) industrial hemp from test plots to pelletizing to oils; C) Root veggies, greens for export; D) Silage and animal feed for export.
Team Three, school involvement: A) Mentoring groups; B) Grammies/Grampies/Retirees; C) Role models/speakers.
Team Four, business Incubation: A) Mentor groups; B) Space availability; C) High speed internet.
The task force meets on the first Tuesday of the month at the Wellness Center on Bennett Drive. The next meeting is Tuesday, June 6, at 6:30 p.m. Meeting duration is 1 to 1.5 hours.
