The Easton Alumni Association will hold their annual Alumni Banquet on June 8 at 6 p.m. They will welcome the class of 2017, as well as honor the class of 1992 on their 25th anniversary and the class of 1967 on their 50th anniversary of graduating from Easton High School.
The evening will begin with supper; the menu includes chicken, potatoes, mixed vegetables, salads and dessert. Alumni are asked to please bring a salad or dessert to share. The annual business meeting will follow. They look forward to seeing everyone!
Dean’s list
Harvey Brown V, son of Harvey IV and Julie-Ane Brown of Easton, was named to the Cedarville University dean’s list for the 2017 Spring Semester. Harvey graduated this May, majoring in industrial and innovative design.
Cedarville University is an accredited, Christ-centered, Baptist university of arts, sciences professional and graduate programs. Located in Cedarville, Ohio, the University offers more than 100 areas of study to approximately 3,760 undergraduate, graduate and online students.
To be named to the dean’s list, a student must earn a 3.75 GPA for the semester, be carrying at least 12 semester hours, and have no grade lower than a B for the semester.
Community library
On Saturdays the Community Library will be held at the Easton High School Library and will feature a story time from 10:00 am to 10:30 am geared for toddlers/pre-K to grade 3; children under 5 must be accompanied by an adult. Story time will include a picture book with an activity/color page to follow.
The library will be open to the community for patrons to utilize library services; book loans, use of periodicals and reference materials, Internet and computer access. Patrons may bring their own devices to access the Internet and will be asked to follow existing library rules/guidelines.
This week’s dates include Wednesday, June 7, at the Elementary School and Saturday, June 10, at the High School.
Scholar announced
Zachary Hammond, a senior at Easton High School, has been named a 2017 Gauvin Scholar by the Aroostook Aspirations Initiative. He will attend Northern Maine Community College, where he will major in automotive technology. Congratulations, Zachary.
