YARMOUTH, Maine — Senior Tori Koch of the Presque Isle Wildcats placed in three events to punctuate a brilliant career in track and field.
The Class B state meet was held Saturday, June 4, 2017 at Yarmouth High School.
Koch was the runner-up in the 400-meter dash in 1:00.05 and took third in the triple jump with a mark of 43 feet, 3/4 inches and fifth in the long jump with a mark of 16 feet, 1/4 inches.
She scored a bulk of Presque Isle’s 18 points on the day. Madelyn Wing was seventh in the javelin throw at 94 feet, 3 inches.
The Presque Isle boys managed just one point in their competition. It was scored by the 4×400-meter relay team of Chan Villatora, Jason Dumais, Kyler Caron and Trace Cyr. They played seventh in 3:43.8.
Fort Fairfield athletes turned in some strong showings at the Class C state track meet Saturday, held in Dover-Foxcroft.
Jonah Daigle, a Fort Fairfield High School sophomore, turned in a second-place performance and a pair of thirds. He was the runner-up in the 110-meter hurdles in 15.56 seconds, third in the 300-meter hurdles in 41.79 seconds and third in the long jump with a mark of 20 feet and 5-3/4 inches.
Colin Goshorn of the Tigers placed fifth in the pole vault (10 feet, 6 inches) and sixth in the 110-meter hurdles (17.27 seconds).
The Fort Fairfield boys placed ninth overall with 25 points.
