Maxine E. Perry, 77, died April 20, 2010, at her home in Medical Lake, Washington with her husband and children at her side. She was born on September 7, 1932, in Castle Hill, Maine, the daughter of John and Beatrice (Howes) Hoffses.
Maxine graduated from Mapleton High School in 1950 and Burdett College in Boston, Massachusetts. She married Tom Perry in Mapleton, Maine in 1953. Together, they raised a family while traveling the world with the United States Air Force. In 1974, after Tom’s retirement from the USAF they settled in Spokane, Washington. They wintered in Zephryhills, Florida.
Maxine is survived by her husband of 56 years, Tom Perry; her children, Bruce and and his wife, Karlene, Brian Perry, Becky Ripley and her husband, Dick, Brent Perry and his wife, Terry; grandchildren, Brandon Perry and his wife, Bri, Blaire Wagner and her husband, Chris, Jonathon, Dusty and Juliann Ripley, Ellen, Annie, and Meg Perry; and great-grandchild Baylee Perry; three sisters, Mary Rose Thomas and her husband, Clifton of Augusta, Marjorie Murchison of Caribou and Marion Guerrette of Presque Isle; two brothers, Eugene Hoffses and his wife, Ina of Castle Hill and Roger Hoffses and his wife Gayle of Presque Isle; uncles, Ike Howes of Corrina and Myrt Howes and his wife, Marion of Lake City, Florida; many, many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Beatrice; brothers, Llewelyn, Johnnye, Richard and Ralph Hoffses; a sister, Pauline Peterson; and good friends, Wilda Bagley and Phyllis Kierstead.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 1, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1725 E. Bridgeport Avenue, Spokane, WA 99207. Memorial donations can be made to Hospice of Spokane.
