Eastern Maine Pageant queens chosen
BAILEYVILLE — Twenty-nine outstanding young ladies from all across eastern Maine recently competed for Eastern Maine Pageant titles in Baileyville, near Calais. Each competed in three phases of competition for the right to wear home the crown. These consisted of an interview with judges, onstage self-introduction and formal wear.
Queens were chosen in Little Miss, Junior Miss, Teen Miss and Ms. categories. Each queen wore home a gorgeous crown and custom-embroidered satin sash and carried home a three-foot trophy and savings bond. Each will represent her community at numerous events, festivities and parades throughout her reign.
Contestants also had the opportunity to compete in optional competitions. These were judged by a separate panel of judges and scores from these competitions had no bearing on the outcome of the pageant. Optional competitions consisted of photogenic, modeling and talent.
From Presque Isle, Shawn Cunningham earned the title of Ms. Eastern Maine 2010. She was also awarded the titles of Ms. Eastern Maine Photogenic and Talent Queen for her classical operatic vocal. Brittany Bearden, also from Presque Isle, won the title of Ms. Eastern Maine Modeling Queen.
Angelica Underhill, from Calais, is the new Teen Miss Eastern Maine. Julie Poitras from Van Buren won the titles of Teen Miss Eastern Maine Photogenic and Modeling Queen. Sophie Leonard from Lincoln was awarded the title of Teen Miss Eastern Maine Talent Queen for her lyrical dance.
In the Junior Miss division, Katarina Pinet wore home the pageant title. She also won the titles of Junior Miss Eastern Maine Modeling Queen and Talent Queen for her lyrical dance. Makayla Shackett from Perham earned the title of Junior Miss Eastern Maine Photogenic Queen.
Molly Kingsbury from Presque Isle is the new Little Miss Eastern Maine. Brianna Jack from Baileyville won the title of Little Miss Eastern Maine Photogenic Queen. Junior Miss Eastern Maine Modeling Queen was awarded to Elexis Dubose from Cherryfield. Elexis also won the Talent Queen title for her vocal performance.
