Manes and Tails looking
for equine insurance education
To the editor:
As a team member of Manes and Tails (MT), a non-profit organization founded to promote and improve therapeutic horse programs county-wide, part of my job is to educate the public as well as facilitate further knowledge for horse professionals.
Most of the MT meetings have an educational element that is often newsworthy, where articles and pictures are thankfully printed in local papers help our communities learn more about the diverse ways horses can help humans and the services available in different parts of the County. MT is not competitive, but rather, a networking mechanism for providing services. We meet where and when we can learn and share; raise funds to support participants and trainings, and distribute donations or items of use where needed.
Our next MT meeting (time and place TBA) is to be about equine facility insurance. Wow what a difficult topic to find people who can help us learn about. So I write to ask for help! If any readers can help educate equine professionals about equine-related insurances, or know someone that may do so, please contact me ASAP so we can all learn from your expertise. You may be an insurance specialist or simply someone who is insured, please share.
I can be reached at 868-5324 or via e-mail at ponygirl489@msn.com. The County horse programs of all kinds will be glad to have your input.
