Winter Concert Held
On Sunday, Dec. 17, the Ashland area schools held their first concert of the year as well as the first concert here in Ashland for Band Director Benjamin Potvin.
The concert started with the 5th grade band playing two songs. This is the first year ever that the 5th grade band has participated in a concert this early in the school year. The band, consisting of 19, students did a wonderful job.
Next up to play was the Ashland Middle School Band. The band played three songs, it was truly enjoyable for all to hear.
The Ashland Middle School Chorus followed with three challenging songs that were quite pleasing to the ears. Chorus is fairly new to the Ashland school system and it sure shows that a lot of hard work on the part of the students as well as the director has been done.
The Ashland High School Concert Band played last, but was certainly not least. The High School Band played three songs with the last a Christmas sing-along with the Middle School Chorus. The audience was included in the sing-along and the presence of Christmas was in the air.
After the concert, a reception of snacks was held in the cafeteria. A lot of dedication was put into this concert and it surely showed.
Thank you, Mr. Potvin!
