MAPLETON, Maine — A Mapleton man walked away without injury after his pickup crashed into a moose early Friday morning, according to the Maine State Police.
Shaun Hollabaugh, 38, was traveling east on the Mapleton Road at around 2:10 a.m. in his 2014 Toyota Tundra pickup when a moose ran out into the roadway. Hollabaugh could not avoid the moose and hit it, Trooper Ryan Kilcollins said in press release issued Friday evening.
Hollabaugh was not injured in the crash, but his vehicle sustained extensive damage to the driver’s side. Hollabaugh was wearing his seatbelt. The press release did not indicate whether the moose was killed in the accident.
