Men’s hoop league begins soon

CARIBOU, Maine — The Caribou Men’s Summer Basketball League kicks off Monday, June 26, with five teams signed up to compete in games to be played at the Caribou Wellness and Recreation Center.

Regular season contests will run through July 31, with a single-elimination playoff tournament following. Each team has eight games in regular season play.

On opening night, Ghent Holdsworth’s team will square off against Tyler St. Pierre’s team at 7 p.m. Also in the first week of play, Al Hebert’s team takes on Loring Job Corps at 8 p.m. on June 27 and Loring Job Corps plays Ghent Holdsworth’s team at 7 p.m. on June 28, followed by Tyler St. Pierre’s team against Young Guys at 8 p.m.

On June 29, Ghent Holdsworth’s team plays Al Hebert’s team at 8 p.m.

Games continue Monday through Thursday in July.
