CONRAD DICKINSON MERRY, SHERMAN – Conrad Dickinson Merry, 74, of Sherman, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on June 7, 2017 at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. Connie was born on June 15, 1942, the youngest son of Charles and Maria Merry. Conrad faced many health trials in his life, including a courageous battle with lung cancer. Conrad was married for 53 years to his wife, Beverley Merry, and they gave each other the real example of what being there “through sickness and health” really meant. Connie and Bev lived their life in Sherman, Maine, at the family farm house where they raised their two beloved children, Kevin Merry and Jennifer Merry Stevens. They truly were his biggest accomplishments. Later in life he was given two grandchildren, MacKenzie and Carly Merry. He was their beloved “Darba”, and they were truly the apples of his eyes. Connie was a family man, and worked hard to provide for them. He worked many jobs with the two main ones being a potato farmer and working for the Maine Department of Transportation. Every year he grew a beautiful garden and planted beautiful flowers. When he wasn’t working or farming he loved to visit friends and family and take his children and grandchildren places. He had a very kind and gentle spirit and was never afraid to speak his mind. He loved talking about the weather and politics. His favorite place to be was on the farm. Connie is survived by his beloved wife, Beverley, his son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Darcy Merry of Sherman, his daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Jonathan Stevens of Island Falls, brother and sister-in-law Linwood and Clyde Merry of Stacyville, sister-in-law Joyce Merry of Sherman, Granddaughters MacKenzie and Carly Merry of Sherman, many nieces and nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, his brothers Barry and Bart Merry, and many lifelong friends who he thought the world of. Connie was honored to be a patient of a man he thought so much of, Dr. Martin Hrynick along with his exceptional staff, and our family would like to give a sincere thank you for their care. Connie will be terribly missed by all who knew him but in hearts forever and was a very special man. A graveside funeral service for family and friends will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at the Sherman Cemetery.
