PRESQUE ISLE – The Aroostook Medical Center Board of Trustees has announced the appointment of four new members: Timothy Doak, PLS, CPESC; Lehrle Kieffer, SRES; Alan Landeen; and Gene Lynch II.
“All four new members bring years of management experience to our board,” said Carl Flora, chairman of the Board of Trustees. “This experience, combined with the deep roots they have in our communities, will allow them to step in right away and help the board ensure that the right local healthcare resources are available to those who need them, when they need them.”
Doak is president of BRSA, a surveying and engineering firm based in Presque Isle. He is a member of the Maine Board of Licensure for Professional Land Surveyors Exam Committee, the Northern Maine Community College Drafting Advisory Committee and the Presque Isle Rotary Club, where he has held several leadership roles. The role of The Aroostook Medical Center’s volunteer board of trustees is to provide governance leadership to ensure that the organization is meeting its mission. Board members do not manage the day-to-day operations of the organization but instead provide governance and strategic direction.
“The industry of healthcare is changing quickly, and we will face many challenges with making sure that timely access to quality healthcare continues to be available to everyone in our communities,” added Flora. “The new board members bring valuable experience and insight. I’m sure they will all make important contributions, and their input will help the board successfully tackle ongoing strategic issues and challenges as they arise.”
Doak, Kieffer, Landeen, and Lynch join 14 existing members of the Board of Trustees. Members include: Mike Kelley of Washburn; Barry McCrum of Mars Hill; Betty Kent-Conant of Fort Fairfield; Lynn Lombard of Caribou; and Mr. Flora, David Jones, MD, Joe Lallande, Larry LaPlante, Peter St. John, and Brett Varnum, all of Presque Isle.
