CARIBOU, Maine — The people of Caribou elected Nicole Cote to serve on city council during the June 13 election, and she was officially sworn in during the City’s June 26 meeting.
While Monday was her first night as an official councilor, city officials selected her as a temporary fill-in councilor when Shane McDougall resigned before the end of his term in February.
City Clerk Jayne Farrin swore Cote in after the city approved the June 13 election results. The results, according to a signed memorandum from Farrin in the Council packet, indicate that out of 254 total votes, 220 voted for Farrin while 19 wrote in another councilor and 15 left the area blank.
Cote was voted to serve the remainder of McDougall’s term, which ends on Dec. 31
