Worcesters to direct basketball camp

WASHBURN, Maine — The annual Beaver Blitz Basketball Camp is back and this year will be offered July 5-7.

Larry and Kenzie Worcester will co-direct the camp. Larry was a longtime boys’ basketball coach at Washburn District High School, and prior to that starred at the University of Maine at Presque Isle and is a member of the Owls’ Athletic Hall of Fame. Kenzie, his daughter, scored over 2,000 points during her four-year varsity career at Washburn, was on four state championship teams and is a standout player at Husson University in Bangor.

The camp is being held at Washburn District Elementary School and is offered to students from throughout Aroostook County entering grades 1-9. The camp offers individual and group drill stations, instructional games and skill competitions.

Grades 1-3 will meet from 3-4 p.m. and grades 4-9 from 4:30-6 p.m. all three days. The fee is $15 per player in the younger age group and $25 for the older age group.
