Maine Masons support cause for Veterans

Royal Arch Masons of Maine continued their support of veterans in Maine.

At a presentation on May 31, 2017 held at Mount Katahdin Chapter of R.A.M. of Millinocket Tim Caverly, author and retired Regional Supervisor for the Maine Department of Conservation for the Allagash Waterway, was presented a check for $3,100. The money will be used to put Tim’s books in recorded form. Copies of the audio books will then be presented to the veterans homes in Maine.

The ultimate goal is to raise $6,200 for the project completion. The check presentation was made by Derward Shedd, High Priest of Katahdin Chapter and Randy Adams, Most Excellent Grand High Priest of the Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Maine.

M.E. Adams also accepted on behalf of the Grand Lodge of Maine copies of Tim’s newest book and earlier published books. In attendance for these presentations were Past Grand High Priests Howard Weymouth and Harold Birt, Jr. of Piscataquis and Mt. Katahdin chapters respectively.

Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Maine supports our Veterans at Togus by purchasing phone cards, sundries and other needs. Grand Chaplain of the Grand Chapter, Dan Hill works diligently year-round to see to it that veterans needs are fulfilled by the efforts of many Masonic sources.

Tim Caverly is the author of Allagash Tails, An Allagash Haunting, Wilderness Wildlife, Wilderness Ranger’s Journal, Heading North, Solace and The Ranger and the Reporter. All of Tim’s books may be viewed at www.allagashtails.com.
