LITTLETON, Maine — After searching for over a year, the Littleton Full Gospel Assembly has announce Christie Corey as its new pastor.
Corey will be ordained and installed during a special service on Sunday, July 9 at 6 p.m., conducted by Mark Babin and his wife, Claudette. The community is invited and a reception will follow.
Corey was executive director of the Pregnancy Care Center for 13 years.
“Over the past year and a half, my husband and I have been sensing a change coming. We both have a passion in the area of marriage ministry and family. We are taking counseling classes through Light University and are enrolled in a three-year course at Apostolic Training Ministries in Fort Fairfield, Maine. As I continued to fill in at Littleton Full Gospel Assembly, I had an increasing love for the people, community and especially the privilege of sharing the Word of the Lord.”
Evan Lewis, president of the board, said, “We are truly blessed as a congregation to have Christie as pastor. Her compassion and desire to reach out to the people in the community is inspiring to the church people and to me. Her knowledge of the Scriptures, coupled with her wit and humor, makes for a really inspirational church service.”
Corey said, “I graduated from Faith School of Theology in 1991 and have always wanted to become ordained. I am very excited about the opportunity. I know God has called me to give my life in service for His kingdom and it is my joy to offer and commit myself to the ministry.
“God has led us to the Littleton Full Gospel Assembly and we are coming with the desire to serve the people in this area,” she added. “We acknowledge there are so many hurts, habits and hang-ups in our community. We want the people to know there is a safe place where they can come in, be accepted and find hope, help and healing.”
“We are very thankful to have our new pastor Christie Corey and her husband, Eric. They are truly an answer to our prayers. With her extensive background in community service and ministry to the hurting, she’s the pastor we need to lead us into outreach ministries,” said an anonymous church member.
On Sundays, the church offers Sunday school at 9 a.m., worship at 10 a.m. and an evening service at 6 p.m., with prayer meeting Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.
