HOULTON, Maine — The Downtown Committee is hosting the viewing of a free webinar entitled The Resurgence of Downtowns on Wednesday, July 19, from 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the Houlton Higher Education Center.
The webinar will cover a variety of topics including what it takes to bring Millennials back home; the future of downtowns (it’s a whole new game); why downtowns are a worthy investment (not an expense); first steps to bring your downtown back; and, a review of efforts in six smaller downtowns.
The webinar is presented by Roger Brooks International. Roger Brooks has spent more than 30 years helping to transform ordinary places into extraordinary destinations. He has worked with a thousand communities, states and provinces, countries, national parks and businesses around the world, guiding them in their branding, marketing, tourism and downtown development efforts.
Brooks was the keynote speaker at the 2016 Governor’s Conference on Tourism and has worked with communities and regions in Maine. Brooks is known for his entertaining and humorous presentation style.
