MARS HILL, Maine – Debra Elaine ‘Giggles’ Fitzherbert, 62, passed away Sunday morning, July 9, 2017, at The Aroostook Medical Center, Presque Isle. She was born on July 10, 1954, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Harvey and Mary Jane “Minnie” (Hafford) Smith.
Debra loved her crafts. She was a member of Unit 118 Auxiliary of Mars Hill for many years. She also was a member of the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Mars Hill. Her greatest asset was being able to take people under her wing and be a “mother” to them. Her cooking ability and knitting was something she loved to teach to others. She had various jobs from manager to EMT and Sunday school teacher.
Besides the love of her life, Bill London, she leaves behind the greatest accomplishment of her life, her son Chuck and his wife Carianne, “the light of her world” her two grandchildren; Kira and Malachi Fitzherbert, a brother Harley E. Smith, Jr. of Florida and a sister, Linda King and her husband Everett of Mars Hill, nephews; LeeRoy King and his wife Sally and family, Hank King and Karin Petrin, Chad King and family, Loren King and his wife Angel and two very special grandnieces who called her every night to sing and tell her goodnight, Layla and Ruby King and Shane Smith of Jefferson, Ohio, nieces; Tanya Cannon and family of Ohio, Traci Dillon and family of Florida, uncle Sydney Smith and his wife Marilee of Mapleton, aunt Roberta Kierstead of Presque Isle and several cousins and special friends. She also leaves behind her extended family; Scott London and family of Idaho, Kelly James and family of North Carolina, Carrie Anne London and family of Vermont and Melissa London and family of Vermont.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her uncles; Donald Kierstead, Floyd Smith, Fred Hafford, Aunts; Ethel Bergman, Matilda Moir, Annie Ralpenson, special cousins and special friends, Jo and Sarah.
A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Kings Grove Cemetery, Mars Hill, with Pastor Cameron Price, officiating. A reception will be held following the service at the Apostolic Pentecostal Church in Mars Hill.
