MARILYN JEAN HALL, VERNON, VT – Marilyn Jean Hall, 85, passed away Monday, June 26, 2017. “Jeanie” was born May 2, 1932, in Mars Hill, Maine, to Lawrence and Frances (Hutchinson) Hallett.
Jeanie was raised in Mars Hill, Maine, and started her career at the DMV in Caribou, Maine. Jeanie later worked at the Houlton County Jail as the Head Cook and Kitchen Manager for over 25 years. She loved to cook and bake, but loved feeding people even more.
On Thanksgiving Day, November 24, 1955, Jeanie married Charles Hall, who predeceased her on May 16, 2013.
In 2008, Jeanie and Charlie moved to the Massachusetts/Vermont area to be near their children. Jeanie was active in the Vernon Senior Citizens group and enjoyed going to lunch and bus trips with her friends. She enjoyed sewing, knitting, watching game shows, dancing and playing the organ or piano. Music was always a part of her life. She was a faithful and devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother whose life centered around her family.
Jeanie is survived by her three daughters, Laurie Albert and husband, David, Pam Hall and Kelly Hall; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; one brother, Richard Hallett and wife, Carolyn; several nieces and nephews.
Services to celebrate Jeanie’s life will be held at the Monticello Community Wesleyan Church, 11 Church Street, Sunday, July 23, 2017, at 3:00 p.m. with the Rev. Jason Rooney officiating, with a reception at the church immediately following. Burial will be at Smith Cemetery in Bridgewater, Maine.
