FORT FAIRFIELD, Maine — Thirty two teams competed in Saturday’s Maine Potato Blossom Festival three-person scramble golf tournament, held at Aroostook Valley Country Club.
The Div. I winner was made up of AVCC members Peter Moore, Larry Girvan and Carter Kennedy, who shot a 61. Placing second was the trio of Ralph Michaud, Bobby Russell and George Ayoob, a stroke back with a 62. Michaud and Russell play out of AVCC and Ayoob resides in southern Maine.
Warren Tremblay of AVCC, Howard Tremblay of Grand Falls, New Brunswick, and Brad Tremblay of Fredericton, New Brunswick, made up the first-place team in Div. II. They scored a 63. In second place was the team of Darren Smith, Jack Smith and Jim Smith, all of Plaster Rock, New Brunswick, with a 64.
