PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Residents will soon have the chance to visit some colorful gardens and feed the hungry at the same time.

Seven local gardeners will welcome the public to view their handiwork on Saturday, Aug. 5, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., in the annual Gardening for Food garden tour to benefit Grace Interfaith Food Table (GIFT).

For the price of a ticket, participants may spend as much time as they like visiting any or all of the available garden sites, which are each unique. All proceeds will go to GIFT.

Gardens include those of: Gayle James, 74 Lombard St.; Rick & Marilyn Nadeau, 45 Third St.; Revily Fulton, 8 Coventry Ct.; Sue Brown, 432 Centerline Rd.; Gloria Fletcher, 368 Centerline Rd.; Cindy Flanagan, 330 Center Rd. in Easton; and Tina Ward, 262 Parsons Rd.

Tickets are $15 per person and can be purchased at Goin’ Postal, the Olde Rustic Attic and Country Collectibles.  On the day of the tour, each gardens will be marked with a mylar balloon by the driveway.

All are welcome to bring along an umbrella just in case of rain, enjoy the beautiful gardens and help feed those in need.
