NEW SWEDEN, Maine — The New Sweden Covenant Church announces its third annual Covenant Cafe reunion on Tuesday, July 25, from 4:30-6 p.m.
For more than 10 years, the church hosted a twice-monthly community luncheon as a way for people who would otherwise be alone to enjoy fellowship with others from the surrounding area. Approximately 100 people attended each lunch.
Due to a number of factors, the church decided it was no longer possible to continue with the lunches. Not wanting to abandon the ministry completely, it sets aside one Tuesday in July to give those who attended the cafe a chance to reconnect. The church welcomes all who would like to join in.
This year’s supper will include a variety of salads prepared by congregation members.
Admission is $8 at the door. Monies collected will benefit church expenses and missions on the local, national and international levels.
