CARIBOU, Maine – Willis K. ‘Bill’ Sewell, 84, passed away peacefully July 13, 2017 at Scarborough Veteran’s Home. He was born in Dixmont, December 12, 1932 the son of the late Harold and Velma (Cullins) Sewell.
He was a graduate of Houlton High School and served with the US Navy during the Korean War serving on the USS Barton from 1951-1957. He married Marjorie J. Noyes and she predeceased him in 1999. Willis was employed by Brake Service and Dead River for many years. He was a longtime member of the Gray Memorial United Methodist Church, and was also a member of the Lister Knowlton Post 9389 VFW and Caribou Lodge #150 A.F. & A.M.
He is survived by his daughter Lynn Sewell of South Portland, two sisters, Lydia Shaw of Calais and Frances Carson of Littleton, several nieces and nephews. Friends called at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, from 1 p.m. Monday, July 17 until time of services. Funeral services was held at 2 p.m. from the chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Darren Bonville officiating.
