The Caribou Public Library will be hosting a book talk with acclaimed author and two-time Maine Literary Awards finalist Vaughn C. Hardacker on Friday, July 28 at 5:00 pm held in the Piper Reading Room at the Caribou Public Library. Mr. Hardacker will be discussing his newly released supernatural thriller, The Wendigo.

According to Native American legend, the Wendigo is an evil spirit that can possess a person, turning them into monstrous creatures. John Bear, the main character in this story, believed the Wendigo was just a scary tale his grandfather used to tell him as a young boy—that is until a man is found dead in the deep woods of Maine. Making things even more perplexing are the footprints leading to and from the body—they couldn’t possibly belong to a human. Fans of Stephen King and Peter Straub will devour this supernatural thriller from.
