The Aroostook Teen Leadership Camp (ATLC) program recently concluded its first “Spring Raffle” with a drawing held at the Aroostook Centre Mall. Dick Palm, WAGM-TV news announcer, drew the winning tickets.
First-place winner of the 2010 Viking 1706 pop-up camper, provided by Griffeth RV Center in Caribou, was Carol Bell of Presque Isle. Warren Dobson of Caribou won the second prize Coleman stove, donated by Presque Isle Walmart store. Kelly Rioux of St. Francis won a Coleman re-chargable LED lantern, while Carla Picard of Caribou won a battery-operated Coleman LED lantern. Both LED lanterns were also donated by the Presque Isle Walmart store.
The ATLC program, sponsored by Aroostook Mental Health Services, Inc., is a leadership development and drug prevention program serving Aroostook County teens in grades 6 through 9. Teens attend a five-day residential summer camp held in Limestone and can participate in a variety of follow-up programs during the school year to develop and strengthen leadership skills learned at camp. There are 65 teens registered for this summer’s camp, which will be held from Monday, July 19 through Friday, July 23.
Erin Hoffses, Ashley Clockedile and Mandy Kilcollins served as the co-chairpersons for this year’s “ATLC Spring Raffle”. The Spring Raffle is one of several fund-raisers for the ATLC program.
