PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — Cornerstone Christian Academy’s board of directors announced July 27 that Angela Wardwell will be interim principal for the 2017-2018 school year.
“Mrs. Wardwell was selected by the CCA board of directors for this assignment due to her knowledge and experience as a founding member of CCA, former board chairperson, former interim principal, and, most recently, her role in admissions and marketing,” said Dwayne Conley, CCA board chairman.
“A search committee that included staff and board members was formed last year to work on identifying the leadership needs for our school. The result of this effort strongly indicated we should hire a principal whose responsibilities were to focus on academic programs and to lead and support the staff members,” Conley said.
“While we continue to review our options to permanently fill the position of principal, we are pleased Mrs. Wardwell is willing to step into this position for the 2017-2018 school year,” he said.
According to its dvision statement, CCA “desires to be a thriving presence in the community with a reputation for excellence in academics and for well-rounded, respectful students who are exemplary representatives of God and their school.”
Wardwell’s longstanding engagement with the school and continued collaboration with the board and the academic leadership team will help the school to continue to achieve this vision, according to Conley.
Wardwell resides in Presque Isle with her husband, Scott, and their two children, Annelise and Liliana.
