CARIBOU, Maine — The Caribou Public Library Archives and Special Collections contain numerous unidentified photographs of WWI military personnel. Many of these are “orphaned,” meaning unidentified
We recently received an email from Lloyd Bragdon regarding the photograph displayed in the June 28 paper. Mr. Bragdon identified the young man in the photo as “Mr. Drake,” whom he had met and most of Mr. Drake’s family in the 1950s. Mr. Drake’s son, Kenneth, was also in the Army in Europe during WW2.
This week’s photograph is of another unknown “Doughboy.” If you recognize this person, please contact the director of the Caribou Public Library, Anastasia Weigle, at 493-4214 or email us at librarydirector@cariboumaine.org.
