Boucher earns academic honor

NEW LONDON, N.H. — Hilary Boucher of Presque Isle is one of three Colby-Sawyer women’s tennis players who have been recognized as Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar-Athletes.

She also was named to the North Atlantic Conference all-academic team.

The rising junior is joined by teammates Evelyn Miller and Aislinn O’Connor.

To be honored by the ITA, an athlete must be a varsity letter winner, have a grade point average of at least 3.5 (on a 4.0 scale) for the most recent academic year, and have been enrolled at the present school for at least two semesters.

Boucher, a 2015 graduate of Presque Isle High School, was a captain of the Wildcats’ tennis team her senior year and qualified for the state tournament as an individual. She was named All-Aroostook and garnered Penobscot Valley Conference post-season accolades.

Boucher owns a 12-5 overall record at Colby-Sawyer through her first two seasons. She is 5-5 in singles and 7-0 in doubles.

She is the daughter of Daryl and Stacy Boucher of Presque Isle.
