Main Street in Houlton was closed Wednesday morning for the annual Peanut Carnival parade. Youngsters who were enrolled in the Just for Kids summer program were able to participate in the parade.

HOULTON, Maine — Maine Street and Market Square in Houlton were filled with all things peanuts Wednesday morning as the Just For Kids Playground held its annual Peanut Carnival Parade.
The Peanut Carnival takes place Thursday, Aug. 3, from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Pleasant Street tennis courts. In the event of rain, the event moves inside to the basement of the Gentle Memorial Building.
