Now is the time to get your clubs out and get in a few swings. It is going to be a very busy month at Houlton Community Golf Course. The Men’s league has just two weeks left and things are heating up as several top seeded teams got beat last week.
This coming weekend will be the 28th annual County Open. Saturday at Houlton will be the 18-hole stroke play tournament. Saturday evening the Lakeside Restaurant will be catering a Gala Dinner and reverse cash raffle with musical entertainment by Trish King.
Sunday will be the 18-hole scramble at VaJoWa golf course in Island Falls. There is still time to sign up for either or both, but time is running out. Take the time to enter now as proceeds benefit the Houlton Regional Hospital Health Services Foundation. If you have any questions, would like to sign up, or if you’re interested in volunteering as a spotter for the hole-in-one prize on Saturday, please call Jackie White at 694-0409. The following weekend will be the Houlton Club Championship / Presidents Cup, Aug. 19 and 20. This is a handicap flighted tournament, so call the clubhouse or come in and sign up. Show your golfing spirit.
Over Labor Day weekend we will hold our annual Babe Caron Memorial Member-Guest tournament. Grab your favorite guest and sign up soon as the field will be limited to 32 teams.
