Rotary Club hosts annual truck pull

PRESQUE ISLE — The Washburn Rotary Club, along with some help from their many friends, recently held a successful fund-raiser in the form of the 2010 Truck Pulls held at the Northern Maine Fairgrounds.
The winners are as follows:
• Amanda Cyr took first place in the 6200 Street Class, with Clint Powers taking second and Josh Allen claiming third;
• In the 6200 2X4 Super Stock Class, Tiger Tash claimed first prize, Gordon Kinney came in second, while Jared Tash held on to take third place;
• In the 6200 4X4 Super Stock Class, Lester Theriault claimed first place, while Steve Kimball followed closely in second place;
• In the 8000 Pro Stock Diesel, Jeff Pelletier came in first, Brian Bouchard second and Bruce Nadeau finished third;
• In the 6200 4X4 Modified Class, Steve Theriault, Mitchell Harris and Eldon Pelletier came in first, second and third respectively;
• In the 20,000 Big Rig Category, Geary Bonville came in first place, Weasel Michaud claimed second and Bob Waugh captured third place;
• In the 7000 Street Class, it was a close call between Clint Powers for first place, Shawn Smith for second place and Kevin Helstrom taking third;
• In the 6200 2X4 Super Stock, Tiger Tash and Jared Tash came in first and second respectively, with Gordon Kinney following close for third place;
• In the 6200 4X4 Super Stock, Steve Kimball came in first place, while Lee Theriault gleaned the second-place award;
• In the 8000 Pro Stock Diesel, Jeff Pelletier garnered the first-place yrophy, while Bruce Nadeau came in second and Brian Bouchard came in third; and
• In the 6200 4X4 Modified category, Steve Theriault was the first-place winner, while Mitchell Harris came in second and Eldon Pelletier took home third place.

PICKING A WINNER — A youthful member of the recent truck pull crowd by the name of Shawn drew the lucky winning ticket for the drawing, aided by Washburn Rotarian Keith Brown. The event was held at the Northern Maine Fairgrounds.
Volunteers Terry and Bobbi Jo Plummer sold tickets valuing nearly $ 1,700 on the 50/50 drawing during a recent truck pull at the Northern Maine Fairgrounds. approximately 100 riders enjoyed their break at the park and boat landing.
