49 teams compete in Crime Stoppers

The 19th annual Crime Stoppers Golf Tournament took place at the Mars Hill Country Club on Saturday and Sunday, July 31 and Aug. 1. There were 49 teams that took part.
Winners in the men’s gross category were Warren Walker, Scott Walker, Tim Hartin and Steve Merry (54). Second gross was the team of John Johnson, Brian Johnson, Brian St. Louis and Matt Enman (55). Third gross were Ryan Guerrette, Andy McQuade, Craig Allen and Scott Bernard (55).
Winners in the men’s net were Mitch Orser, Scott Drysdale, Angela Drysdale and Wilder York (45). Second net went to Peter Allen, Lloyd Allen, Mitch Wheeler and Mike Samon (47). Third net winners were Brian Young, Steve Cheney, Michael Dahlgren and Chad Lavway (48).
Ladies gross winners were Joan Lothrop, Judy Belk, Darlene Higgins and Mileah Brown (74). Ladies net winners were Linda Kinney, Bea Brown, Doreen Turner and Diane Libby (61).
Other awards included closest to the pin, hole No. 6 – Dan Hotham (4 feet, 7 inches); hole No. 8 – Adam Orser (1 foot, 10 inches); longest putt, hole No. 12 – Matt Enman (31 feet, 2 inches); closest to the pin, hole No. 13 – John T. York (4 feet, 6 inches); hole No. 15 – Josh McGuire (1 foot, 1 inch); longest drive, hole No. 18 – Tim Hartin; and closest to the sheriff, Saturday, Kirk Calhoun (6 feet, 3 inches) and Sunday, Tim York (9 feet).
