Presque Isle Youth Hockey is looking for adults interested in coaching or helping out with its six levels of youth hockey teams.

SAD 1 has set tryout dates for the upcoming fall sports season.
Golf tryouts get under way Aug. 16 at 3 p.m. at Presque Isle Country Club. Fall cheering tryouts will also begin Aug. 16 from 6-8 p.m. at the PIHS upper gymnasium.
Girls and boys cross country running tryouts begin Aug. 23 from 3-4 p.m. at the Johnson Athletic Complex.

The fourth annual KeyBank Charity Golf Scramble will take place Saturday, Aug. 21 at Presque Isle Country Club.
Proceeds from the three-person scramble will benefit several area charitable organizations and projects, including area animal shelters, school projects, Project Graduation, Women, Work & Community, youth hockey and the United Way of Aroostook.
Many prizes will be up for grabs, including a hole-in-one prize of a new car from Griffeth Honda-Ford-Lincoln-Mercury-Mitsubishi. A barbecue lunch will be provided to all golfers, courtesy of Star City IGA.
The shotgun start is at 10 a.m., with golfer registration beginning at 9 a.m. The team registration fee is $120. Call Steve St. Pierre at 764-9423 to register.
The fourth annual Cornerstone Classic Golf Tournament will be held Saturday, Aug. 28 at Caribou Country Club.
This standard three-person 18-hole scramble will have a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The hole-in-one prize is $15,000 cash. Proceeds will benefit programs at Cornerstone Christian Academy in Presque Isle. For information, call Paul Cormier at 769-9474.
The 18th annual PIHS Invitational Soccer Tournament will be held Thursday, Aug. 12 and Saturday, Aug. 14 at the Johnson Athletic Complex.
Schools competing are Presque Isle, Ashland, Madawaska, Houlton, Fort Kent, Caribou and Van Buren. Games get under way at 3 p.m. Thursday and continue through 7 p.m. that evening. Saturday’s games begin at 8:30 a.m., with the boys championship game set for 11:35 a.m. and the girls championship at 12:15 p.m.
A junior varsity round robin will be played Wednesday, Aug. 11, also at the Johnson Athletic Complex in Presque Isle. Games will be played from 3:30-5:40 p.m. and schools involved are Madawaska, Presque Isle, Caribou and Central Aroostook.
The Allan R. Shaw Memorial Tournament, which features a scramble format with male, female or mixed teams, will be held Saturday, Aug. 21 at the Aroostook Valley Country Club in Fort Fairfield. The event begins with registration at 10:30 a.m. and a shotgun start at noon.
The $50 entry fee includes golf, cart and dinner.

The University of Maine at Fort Kent athletic department will host a Youth Voices 5K/10K Road Race on Sunday, Aug. 15 at the UMFK Sports Center, with a 9 a.m. start time.
Race-day registration begins at 8 a.m. The fee is $`5, with proceeds to benefit the Youth Voices program.
