Katahdin Trust 6, Key Bank 2

    RJ Gross picked up the win on the mound, striking out 13 batters as Katahdin Trust prevailed in Presque Isle Recreation and Parks Department minor league baseball action. Matthew O’Connell pitched well but took the loss for Key Bank. 

    Offensively, Katahdin Trust was led by Jacob Sjoberg with two singles, Zechariah Morse with a double, and Kyler Caron and Storm Bonato each with a single. Garrett Morneault reached base safely three times for the winners.
    Key Bank was led at the plate by Jack Beaulieu with two singles. Keegan Kinney had two singles and Griffin Guerrette notched three singles.

 
K of C 5, Savings Bank of Maine 4

    K of C narrowly beat Savings Bank as Jonah Hudson picked up the win on the mound for K of C, striking out 16 batters.
    Jake Stevens took the loss for Savings Bank. Erik Tompkins came in relief in the first inning and finished out the game by striking out 13 hitters.
    There were a total of two hits in the game. K of C’s hit came from Jonah Hudson and Adam Patterson of Savings Bank picked up the other hit.
    Jack Bonville, Bailey York, Stevens, Tompkins and Max Bartley all played well defensively for Savings Bank.

 
Katahdin Trust 8, Savings Bank of Maine 7

    Katahdin Trust held on to beat a hard-charging Savings Bank team. Storm Bonato earned the win and Carter Rice picked up the save for Katahdin Trust. Jake Stevens and Adam Patterson combined to pitch for Savings Bank. Patterson pitched three very strong shutout innings.
    Katahdin Trust’s offense was led by Jacob Sjoberg with a single, Kyler Caron and RJ Gross each with a double. Storm Bonato earned three walks.
    Savings Bank was led offensively by Stevens, who had two singles, and Patterson, who notched three singles and a double. Max Bartley singled and Trace Cyr walked three times.
    Playing great defense for Katahdin Trust were Storm Bonato, Kyler Caron, RJ Gross, Rylee Albert, and Zechariah Morse. Making key defensive contributions for Savings Bank were Jack Bonville, Stevens, Nagoozet Morey, Adam Patterson and Cole Patterson.

 
Key Bank 5, K of C 3

    The final Minor League game of the week saw Key Bank defeat K of C.
    Griffin Guerrette earned the victory on the mound for Key Bank, while Jonah Hudson picked up the tough-luck loss.
    Getting hits for Key Bank were Guerrette with a triple and Jaren Winger had a single. Hudson picked up the lone single for K of C.
    Playing outstanding defense for K of C were Carter Trombley, Torey Levesque, and Brady Gallagher-Easler. Key Bank’s Drew Cameron made a key defensive play to stop a K of C rally.

 
K of C 0, Key Bank 0

     Last Wednesday marked the final day of minor league baseball. To show off the teams’ talents, a round robin was played between the four teams. The first game of the morning featured K of C and Key Bank.  Due to a time limit the game ended in a tie 0-0.  The only hit of the game belonged to Griffin Guerrette, who singled for Key Bank.
    The defense was amazing for both sides. Jaren Winger, Jack Beaulieu, Griffen Guerrette, Matthew O’Connell, Drew Cameron, Trevor Miranda, Isaac Madore, Keagan Kinney and Ifeanyi Sargeant all made great plays for Key Bank. For K of C, Torey Levesque, Gage Young, Jonah Hudson, Will Bridges, Andrew Hewitt, Mason Young, Chase Quirion, Brody Gallagher-Easler, Josh Baldwin and Ian Franz all were standouts. 

 
Savings Bank of Maine 6, Katahdin Trust 1

    The second game of the morning had Katahdin Trust take on Savings Bank. Savings Bank came away with a 6-1 victory as Adam Paterson notched the win. Jacob Sjoberg was handed the loss on the mound for Katahdin Trust.
    At the plate, Zechariah Morse’s two singles and Storm Bonato’s single led the way for Katahdin Trust.  Savings Bank was led by Jake Stevens with a single, Adam Paterson with a single and a double, Max Bartley with a single and Jack Bonville with a single.
    Defensively, Zechariah Morse, Jacob Sjoberg, Carter Rice, Kyler Caron, RJ Gross, Storm Bonato, Rylee Albert and Garrett Morneault all made great plays for Katahdin Trust. Savings Bank in the field was led by Jake Stevens, Adam Paterson, Max Bartley, Jack Bonville, Trace Cyr, Nagoozet Morey and Cole Paterson.

Savings Bank of Maine vs. K of C

    The third game of the morning had Savings Bank squaring off against K of C.  At the plate, Savings Bank was led by Jake Stevens with two singles, Adam Paterson with a single, Max Bartley with a single and Jack Bonville with a single. K of C was paced by Torey Levesque with a single, Jonah Hudson with two singles, Will Bridges with a single and Andrew Hewitt with a single.
    Jake Stevens, Adam Paterson, Max Bartley, Jack Bonville, Trace Cyr, Nagoozet Morey and Cole Paterson all made great plays for Savings Bank. For K of C, Torey Levesque, Gage Young, Jonah Hudson, Will Bridges, Andrew Hewitt, Mason Young, Chase Quirion, Josh Baldwin and Ian Franz all were solid defensively.

 
Key Bank vs. Katahdin Trust

    The final game of the year was a battle between Key Bank and Katahdin Trust. At the plate, Key Bank was led by Jaren Winger with three singles, Jack Beaulieu with a single, Griffin Guerrette with a single and a double, Matthew O’Connell with a single, Keagan Kinney with two singles and Ifeanyi Sargeant with two singles.
    Katahdin Trust was led by Jacob Sjoberg with 3 singles, while Kyler Caron, Storm Bonato and Carter Rice each singled.     Zechariah Morse, Jacob Sjoberg, Carter Rice, Kyler Caron, RJ Gross, Storm Bonato, Rylee Albert, Elijah Ruiz and Garrett Morneault all helped out defensively for Katahdin Trust. Key Bank was led defensively by Jaren Winger, Jack Beaulieu, Griffin Guerrette, Matthew O’Connell, Drew Cameron, Trevor Miranda, Isaac Madore, Keagan Kinney and Ifeanyi Sargeant.

 
End of season awards

    As the season comes to a close, it is the time to hand out the awards. Every player received a certificate for a great job done during the season. To go along with the certificates, one player from each team received the coach’s award. The following were the recipients of the award; Savings Bank, Max Bartley; Katahdin Trust, Kyler Caron; K of C, Jonah Hudson; and Key Bank, Jack Beaulieu.
