MASARDIS, Maine — A 39-year-old Masardis man was flown to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor Sunday night after crashing the motorcycle he was driving.
On Sunday evening, Devin Stoltz was riding a Honda motorcycle, owned by an acquaintance from Ashland, south on Garfield Road in Masardis when he came around a corner and lost control, according to Maine State Police.
Stoltz, who was not wearing a helmet, went off the road and into a ditch when he lost control, according to Trooper Tim Saucier, who responded to the accident around 7:30 p.m.
The motorcycle hit an embankment, went airborne into a patch of trees and came back into the roadway, according to the trooper.
The Ashland Ambulance Service responded and transported Stoltz to The Aroostook Medical Center in Presque Isle. Due to “the severity of his injuries,” Stoltz was later flown to EMMC, according to Saucier. An update on his condition was not immediately available Monday morning.
