PRESQUE ISLE AND EASTON, Maine – James M. ‘Jim’ Driscoll, 59, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday August 12, 2017 at a Presque Isle healthcare facility. He was born May 7, 1958 in Fort Fairfield, the son of Melvin A. and Vera (Condon) Driscoll of Easton.
He was a graduate of the Easton High School, Class of 1978 and worked as a chef in the University of Maine at Presque Isle Cafeteria until 1989 and also at Pizza Hut in Presque Isle from 1989 to 1991. Jim was blessed with the gift of life, a kidney transplant on August 4, 1986, which enabled him to enjoy many more years. He started dialysis December 2011 at County Dialysis in Presque Isle and made many friends there. He was married to Sandra Doody on August 13, 1988 and served as a Deacon at the Pine Tree Baptist Church in Easton for many years and served and loved the Lord his whole life.
He was predeceased by his father, Melvin A. Driscoll; mother-in-law, Edith M. Doody Goodine and her husband Thomas Goodine. He is survived by his wonderful mother, Vera (Condon) Driscoll of Easton; his wife of twenty-nine years and the love of his life, Sandra (Doody) Driscoll of Presque Isle; his precious children, Nathan Driscoll and Nicole (Driscoll) Farrow and her husband Adam, all of Presque Isle; brother and sister-in-law, Steven and Cathy Condon of Spring Lake, NC; sister, Laurie Driscoll and her companion Jeff Drumgool of Ash Fork, AZ; father-in-law, Paul Doody and his wife Joanne of Eddington; brother-in-law, Troy Doody and his wife Mary of Presque Isle; sister-in-law, Linda Gardiner of Presque Isle. He also leaves behind many uncles, aunts, nieces, cousins and many friends, including a very special relative and friend, Mary Day of Caribou. He also will be sadly missed by four special dogs, Daisy, Mae, Lillie, Rose and “granddogs” Babygirl and Buddy.
He will be greatly missed by all. Friends may call Friday August 18, 2017 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Pine Tree Baptist Church, Easton, where the services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Carlos da Cruz officiating. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will follow in the church fellowship room.
