LIMESTONE, Maine – Daniel L. Durepo, 44, passed away in Bangor on Tuesday, August 15, 2017. Dan was born in Caribou on December 20, 1972, the son of Jeffery and Marlene (Norbeck) Durepo.
Dan was a member of the Army National Guard and served in Iraq with the 172nd Infantry, and a co-founder of United Veterans of Maine whose goal is to provide and coordinate services for the most deserving population of people our veterans. Dan started working for the Post Office as a rural route delivery carrier in the mid-1990s and was promoted to his first Postmaster position in 1997. He went on to serve as Post Master for five different towns in Maine, to include his hometown of Limestone before retiring in 2012.
Dan was a big sports fan and loved watching the Red Sox and the Patriots, but he especially loved the Bruins. He was also well known for his cooking skills, but his most cherished moments were spending time with his children, Ghent and Saffayia.
Dan is survived by his parents, Jeffery and Marlene Durepo of Long Lake, his children, Ghent and Saffayia Durepo of Woodland, his brother, Tim and his wife, Nancy Durepo of Delanco, NJ, his favorite sister, Sarah and her husband, Travis Hutchinson of Bucksport. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family may call on Friday, August 18th from 6-8pm at Lancaster Morgan Funeral Home in Caribou. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 19th at 10am at the Limestone Methodist Church.
