The fall sports season is now in full swing for area high schools as golf teams, boys and girls soccer squads, and cross country teams are all seeing their first action of the new year.
Wednesday’s slate of soccer games features Hodgdon at Central Aroostook, with the girls playing at 5 p.m. and the boys at 7 p.m.; and Central Aroostook at Southern Aroostook, with both boys and girls playing at 3:30 p.m..
For golf, Ashland journeys to Southern Aroostook for a 3:30 p.m. match. At VaJoWa golf course in Island Falls; and Central Aroostook plays Hodgdon at 3:30 p.m. at Houlton Community Golf Course.
In cross country, Greater Houlton Christian Academy hosts runners from Houlton, Washburn, Fort Kent and the Maine School of Science and Mathematics at 4 p.m. Wednesday. The race will be held behind the John A. Millar Civic Center in Houlton.

Boys Soccer
Central Aroostook 13, Southern Aroostook 1 — At Dyer Brook Tuesday, the Panthers (4-0) rolled to the lopsided victory. Leading goal scorers for CAHS were Hayden Kingsbury and Hunter Wardwell, both three goals; Josh Thomas, two.
Gavin Vining scored the lone goal for the Warriors (0-1).
In net, Panther Braden Bradbury had three saves on five shots, while SACS used Brett Williams, Xavier Morales, and Parker Skinner in goal. The trio combined for 27 saves on 47 shots.
Ashland 4, Wisdom 0 — The Hornets shutout Wisdom at St. Agatha for their first win of the year. Ashland is now 1-3 on the season, while Wisdom falls to 3-2. Individual results were not reported.
Fort Fairfield 5, Easton 0 — The Tigers improved to 3-2 on the season with their shutout over Easton. The Bears are now 2-2 on the year. Individual results were not reported.
Girls Soccer
Southern Aroostook 3, Central Aroostook 1 — At Dyer Brook, Kacy Daggett’s two goals led the Warriors past Central Aroostook (2-2). Makaelyn Porter added a goal and Paige Vose and Kylie Vining assists for Southern Aroostook (1-0).
Katie Levesque scored for Central Aroostook, with Janelle Tweedie providing the assist.
SACS’ Sydney Brewer saved eight of nine shots in goal. For the Panthers, Caitlyn Harris stopped three of seven shots.
Ashland 2, Wisdom 0 — At St. Agatha, the visiting Hornets improved to 4-0 on the year with the two goal shutout over Wisdom (3-2). Individual results were not reported.
Easton 3, Fort Fairfield 1 — At Fort Fairfield, the Bears notched their first win of the year as Easton improved its record to 1-3. Fort Fairfield dropped to 0-5 on the season. Individual results were not reported.
