PITTSFIELD, MA – David Louis Bouchard, of Pittsfield, MA, passed on August 19, 2017 in Albany, New York, at the age of 80. David was born on February 18, 1937 in Caribou, Maine. The son of Philip and Lucille (Olson) Bouchard. He graduated from Caribou High School in 1955, excelling in both baseball and basketball.
After high school David joined the Army in 1955-1958 to include being stationed in Verdun, France, as a photographer.
After serving his country he returned to Caribou, Maine, and started his career with JC Penney Co., as Manager and Government Relations Coordinator for MA and ME. He retired in 1997 from the Berkshire Mall store in Lanesboro, MA, store after 38 years of service.
He was a 3rd degree Knight of the Knights of Columbus, past President of the Kiwanis Club and a communicant of St. Joseph Church.
David married the love of his life, Fern Thibeault in Madawaska, ME, in 1961. Together they raised two sons, David and Tom. David enjoyed traveling, golf, taking care of his gardens, but most of all a devoted husband and family man.
David will be sadly missed by his wife Fern of 56 years, sons David and his fiancée, Brenda of Belgrade Lakes, ME, daughters Karissa and Kourtney and granddaughters Ellie and Tatum of Augusta, ME. Tom and wife Mary, granddaughters Hilary and Elizabeth Bouchard of Wells, ME. Sisters Judy and husband Max Garrett, Joyce and husband James White of Denton, TX. Sister-in-law Bernadette Bouchard of Manchester, ME, sister-in-law Lourdes Casazza of Madawaska, ME, brother-in-law Richard and his wife Carol of Ft. Myers, FL. His many friends, his golf buddies as well as many nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly. He was predeceased by his brother Robert.
A Liturgy of Christian burial for Mr. David L. Bouchard will be September 9, 2017 at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 414 North Street in Pittsfield, MA, celebrated by Msgr. Michael Shershanonvich, Pastor. Interment will be private. There will be a time of visitation, at St. Joseph Church, prior to the service from 8:30 to 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Joseph Church Memorial Fund, care of the Dwyer Funeral Home in his memory.
