Police arrested a West Chapman man in Fort Fairfield Sunday morning and charged him with trafficking in methamphetamine after allegedly finding the drug in his vehicle.
Graydon Warner, 20, and a passenger were parked at a local business when Fort Fairfield police officer Ryan Eagles and Trooper Pat Pescitelli of the Maine State Police approached the vehicle to speak with the pair and, in the process, spotted packages of methamphetamine in the back seat, according to a statement released by the Fort Fairfield Police Department.
The officers then searched Warner’s care and found six bags of methamphetamine totaling 7.8 grams, a scale and other drug paraphernalia, according to the statement.
Police arrested Warner on the Class B crime and transported him to the Aroostook County Jail, where he was still being held Monday on $5,000 cash bail. The statement did not identify the passenger who was not charged.
