CARIBOU, Maine – Philip S. McNeal, 84, well known area business man died September 4, 2017 at Caribou. He was born at Caribou on December 7, 1932, the son of the late Herbert and Gladys (Chapman) McNeal.
He was a graduate of Caribou High School and attended Ricker College. He served with the U.S. Army during Korea and was a member of the Lister Knowlton Post 9389 VFW and the Henry B. Pratt Post 15 American Legion. Phil owned and operated McNeal’s Trucking in Caribou for many years, a family business started by his father and still run today by his daughter and son-in-law. He married Beverly Michaud on September 9, 1969. Mr. McNeal was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Phil will be remembered as a kind, giving person, with a great sense of humor.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Beverly of Caribou, are his children Troy McNeal of Springhill, Florida, Tracey McNeal-Cyr and husband Robert and Teelynne McNeal-Herbert and husband Jack, all of Caribou; his grandchildren Sarah and Chad McNeal, Samara and Carter Cyr and Cody, Searra and Cory Herbert; two great-grandchildren, Sofia Bush and Carley Cyr, as well as two great-grandchildren on their way; his special canine companion Gabby, as well as many special friends of the family.
Friends called at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir Street, Caribou, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10. A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 11, 2017 from the Parish of the Precious Blood, Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Interment was at the Evergreen Cemetery.
