Please join Central Aroostook Association in a week of appreciation for National Direct Support Professional Recognition Week. We honor the work of direct support professionals (DSPs) who provide services to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our surrounding communities.
From September 10 through September 16, Central Aroostook Association will join organizations nationwide to pay special tribute to direct support professionals (DSPs) who provide long-term supports for people to live and work as independently possible. In additional to this recognition, Central Aroostook Association is acknowledging DSPs, Education Technicians, and Behavioral Health Professionals. Collectively, this group of qualified professionals within their field comprise nearly 85% of the 150 employees at Central Aroostook Association. “In appreciation of the hands-on care, education, and tireless effort set forth by our dedicated staff, we pay tribute to these individuals who have made our Association diversified and vibrant since 1959.” Executive Director Steve Richard states.
DSPs, Education Technicians, and Behavioral Health Professionals are the support and fabric that allow each youth and adult opportunity and personal achievement. Each employee is a critical link to learn skills to be independent and resourceful in their respective communities across Aroostook County. They are often a bridge to connect with family, friends, and community.
Central Aroostook Association’s board of directors and leadership team extend a sincere thank you to staff who, day after day, commit themselves to making life for others better with their assistance.
