HOULTON, Maine — The Houlton Police Department will host a “Community Prayer Moment” for first responders on Friday, Sept. 22, at 11 a.m. at the Public Safety Building located on 97 Military St.
According to Police Chief Tim DeLuca, the department was approached by Cindy Milton, organizer of the prayer moment, to host the event. The goal is to recognize those lost in the line of duty, express thanks and gratitude and pray for safety to those first responders that protect the community and the dangers they face.
This prayer moment will last about 15 minutes and be lead by Pastor Joshua Brewer of the Shiretown Baptist Church and dispatcher Tom Milton.
